Of déjà vu & Shepherd's Pie

Note: This is my second attempt at baking Shepherd's Pie. To read about the succesful first attempt (with pictures) click here.
After last time, Mom & me had been waiting to bake Shepherd's Pie again. (Not that it's too troublesome, but it's got too much butter & fat & that makes it somewhat unhealthy.)
Not too much to write about since we followed the same recipe/procedure as last time. Since the inside of the pie turned out a little watery last time, we used less water to prepare the stock & it worked.
So, here are the pictures (again!)-
This is when it was all set to be popped into the oven.
This is after we took it out of the oven.
This is after we cut a slice out.

Just as last time, it smelled heavenly & tasted delicious! I was so happy!
Somehow the potato didn't 'brown' evenly this time, but potato can be quite moody like that.
I think Mom & me make a wonderful cooking team. We can't wait to try cooking new (baked) dishes soon!

love,

  1. Congratulations again. It surely looks yummy. Eat another slice (if any is left) on my behalf. Don't worry about the butter & fat, I am ready to take that on your behalf! ;-)

  2. @All talk and No Action- Sure! I had linked to the recipe one the blog post I wrote when I first tried the said dish. But here it is- http://homecooking.about.com/od/lambrecipes/r/bllamb26.htm
(Note that though the website says beef, if you don't eat beef you can substitute it for chicken too, because one of my cousin's tried it witch chicken & it turned out just fine!)
And the very slight changes I made were mentioned in theis post- http://www.magalic.com/2009/10/shepherds-pie-grand-success.html
