TABASCO® Original Red!

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of TABASCO® Original Red. All opinions are 100% mine.

TABASCO® Original Red needs no introduction.

But for those you who haven't heard of it (you should be ashamed of yourselves!) it is a hot pepper sauce made by McIllhenny company. It was founded waayyy back in 1868 (your grandparents weren't even born then!) So Tabasco Original Red was the first sauce introduced by the McIllhenny company, & remains the most popular out of their six sauces.

It is sauce that I have known about ever since I was a little kid, because it always available in the mess room (i.e. dining rooms) on all the ships. And we always have a ready stock at home too. I asked my mom to check how many bottles of Original Red we have at home right now. We have two that we are currently consuming (don't ask why we have two opened at the same time, because I have no clue!) Anyway, other than that, I found that we have three bottles in the pantry!

What I especially love about Tabasco Original Red is that it is not about heat for heat's sake. It is about what the heat does to the flavor of the food. I will always remember this one pepper sauce we purchased, it was so fiery but it turned out to be nothing but ground peppers. :( Tabasco has a simple combination of salt, red pepper & vinegar perfected in a 3 year aging process that produces a hot sauce with an uncanny ability to bring out the most in your food! It doesn't just add it's own specific flavor, but enhances the flavor of your food.

Tabasco makes a great Game-Day Party Menu too! It's a great addition to any snack, especially Pizza. In fact I think Tabasco + Pizza = Pizza Perfected! I add it on practically anything! Pizza, Pasta, Instant Noodles, Soup, Devilled Eggs, Omelettes, Burgers. And recently I have been very interested in making Cocktails, so I'm definitely gonna add it to Bloody Marys. Whenever I'm cooking, I always make it a point to have a few drops, straight from the bottle!

This is an advertisement for Tabasco Sauce from 1905 (taken from Wikimedia Commons). I love that the look of the bottle has stayed so similar in over a century. To me that signifies true quality.

So, do you use Tabasco Original Red? What foods do you like to add it to? Let me know in the comments section!

XOXO,

Magali

  1. Ever since I tried this wonderful sauce on my first, I have been in love with it. I am the "likes-spicy-food" kind of guy, ut was never happy with all those chilli sauces bottled by famous brands. But Tabasco, as you said, packs-in its own flavour and two dashes in to the plain soups, make it heavenly. Some time bck, due to shortage at our local shopping market I had tried out the lock brand, Capsico(copycats!! to the level that they copied te bottle shape, and th design on the box). I will do without it, if I dont get tabasco, but I will never buy that brand again...
BTW, you said it goes with anything. Did you ever try small dashes on our Indian national food, The Dal Rice(Considering you ea it)
