Behind the Lens

When I first took a self portrait in the mirror I thought it was a little vain. But as time passed, I started to take more of them, at different places & with different cameras, I started to see the beauty in it. It let's you be behind the lens & in front of it at the same time, what a nice thing.
I finally went & made a blogroll some time ago before when I first started blogging about (analog) photography, I didn't find that many photo-blogs like mine out there (of course they existed, but I didn't know where to look, google wasn't too helpful either). Little by little I started to find new blogs to read, some of us even become blog friends.
So I asked some of my favorite photo bloggers to send in a self portrait. They're all women & they all inspire me greatly at a personal level. Also, except for three they're all on film! Here they are, in no particular order. Don't forget to check out their blogs.

  8. Disqus hates me, I think. I wanted to use my first name and blog name: Anne from hello-souris.blogspot.com, but it wouldn't let me.

  10. I really like the photo you sent, Antonella. I think it's imaginative to display all your cameras like that. If it makes you feel any better, I suck at being in front of the camera. But I'm trying to remedy that slowly by taking more self portraits on digital & whatnot. Try doing that when you're not busy, just mount your dslr on a tripod, use a remote or self timer. You may not be completely happy with what you get but it helps in the long run.
