I was just going through some folders on my mac when I came across some film photos from last December - it was actually the test roll for my Canon A-1.
Seeing these photos again brought back many thoughts - first of all I'm so happy I made the decision to buy the A-1. It may have been slightly expensive for a film camera, & really heavy but the results make it truly worth it. I'm feeling pretty guilty because I haven't used it in a while.
I feel very nostalgic whenever I look at any photos from last year mainly because my life has changed so much since then. Now don't get me wrong, I'm much happier, more fulfilled & less sleep deprived now but it still boggles my mind about how unexpected the changes were, how things can never go back to the way they were (in so many ways!) & all that. I didn't see any of this coming.
It's times like those when I'm very grateful for photography & the fact that I have photos to look at whenever I'm in the mood to reminisce. That's why I took it up in the first place - not so much to create profound or artistic images but to chronicle the everyday.
