I get a ton of questions about it.My first name is Magali. From my research I have found lots of different meanings-
It is the French form of the Greek name Margaret, which means 'Pearl'. Also possibly from the Persian name Mar Galiti meaning 'daughter of the sea.'
It could also possibly be from the French name 'Madeleine' which is the Hebrew form of Magdalene, literally meaning 'woman from Magdala' but also means 'from high tower' or 'one who is elevated'.
I know I might never know where my name came from for sure. But I love all of the meanings & find them extremely relevant. Pearl is nice, daughter of the sea is very relevant as my dad is a sailor & I've spent a few years on the ship. And the possible Hebrew origin? I am a huge fan of Mary Magdalene so I'm honoured!
My second name is Caira. Thankfully this meaning is much simpler & not disputed. It is of Irish origin & a less common variant of the name Ciara which simply means 'black'. I love it!
And Vaz? It's my surname, of Portuguese origin as I'm from Goa & the Portuguese rulers converted almost all locals to Christianity during the infamous Inquisition, giving them all Portuguese surnames.
Contrary to what a lot of bloggers think, my name is not a pseudonym but in fact my real, birth names. Aren't I lucky to get such exotic/unique names?
I live in Mumbai, (or Bombay) India.
I was born here (so were my parents) & except for a few years mom & me spent sailing with my dad when I was little, I've lived here all my life.
I'm Goan by descent (though I cannot speak my native Konkani language, I can understand it!)
My family visits Goa atleast once every year. We have a home close to Colva Beach.
I love the beaches! I am happiest when I am at them! And also the cuisine- The famous Sausages, Seafood & all the local styles of cooking. I am very proud of my Goan heritage.
I'm an only kid & live with my parents.

I love love love analog photography. It started with Lomography & other toy cameras but now I have quite a few vintage cameras too. I have a soft spot for Soviet cameras.
Though I don't 'believe' in astrology that much, I do believe that you can find a lot about a person by knowing his/her zodiac sign. I'm an Aries.
